Fifty miles across North Somerset

A lovely, crisp, sunny morning and a nice fifty miles or so across North Somerset. Rode over to Portishead to meet my riding companion, then headed out across Walton Bay and down towards Clevedon. I was nursing a sore knee and elbow courtesy of a bit of over enthusiastic mountain biking yesterday in the Forest of Dean so was taking it a bit steady. We headed out over Kenn moor (nice and flat) and then up Brockley Coombe towards Bristol International Airport. From here, we descended towards Winford, then turned of and up back towards the airport and up to Nempnett Thrubwell! Along the Row of Ashes and then across the A38 to Wrington.

A nice view looking down the hill towards Wrington with the Mendips in the distance

We then headed down the hill to the village (past the superb walled garden cafe) and then along to Yatton and back across Kenn Moor before retracing our steps back home. A lovely morning and a lovely ride, getting some miles in before the Gospel Pass audax on the 3rd March.
